The purpose of this study is to investigate competing values
approach (CVA) on the relationships among principals''''''''
leadership roles,school organizational culture and
organizational effective- ness , and to verify the fit of CVA
and construct the initial investigate model in R.O.C.. There
were 1203 usable responses with a 85.9% acceptable samples
received from the survey of the target teachers of senior high
schools in Taiwan, R.O.C.. The hypotheses were tested using t-
test,ANOVA,cluster analysis,discrimination analysis,correlation
, regression, canonical correlation and multidimensional
scaling. The conclusions of this research are: ①principal
leadership roles, organizational culture and organizational
effectiveness have the tedency of internal bureaucracy. ②In
the variables of background among the leadership roles,
organizational culture and organizational effectiveness have
significant difference. ③The principals with forcible
conduct are mostly helpful to develop organizational culture
and cultivate the highest organizational effectiveness.④The
organizational culture influences the organi- zational
effectiveness. ⑤The variables of background and leader- ship
roles and organizational culture are the important predi-
cable factors in organizational effectiveness. ⑤CVA is not
all applicable to senior high schools in Taiwan, R.O.C.,
manifests partly consistency; however partly inconsistency。 In
addition, this research offer suggestions respectively on the
aspect of practical application and future study.
