題名:諮商中當事人自尊改變歷程之分析研究

本研究主要目的在了解低自尊當事人在諮商中呈現出的基本特徵,以
及描述當事人經由何種的內在心理歷程來達成自尊改變,因而採質的研究
及發現式研究法,以五名自覺缺乏信心的大學生進行四至五次諮商的逐字
稿為分析材料,並以各當事人每次諮商後在「情境自尊量表」的得分做對
照,本研究結果如下: 一、諮商中當事人低自尊的特徵,包含:負向
知覺自己、消極退縮的行為模式、負向的內在情感、未獲肯定與支持的家
庭經驗、嚴格的價值與規準、訊息處理的負向基模等六大類。 二、當
事人自尊改變的歷程可分為「陳述負向自我與生活困擾」、「探索負向自
我之相關因素」、「擴大知覺、體驗與洞察」、及「正向自我感受」四階
段。其諮商進展並非不可逆的, 經常是在進入下階段後,仍可能退回前一
階段。在諮商進展上,能否進入第三階段「擴大知覺、體驗與洞察」是自
尊提昇的關鍵;自尊未提昇者,則有較多的時間停留在第一及二階段。
三、促成自尊改變之要素有以下七項: 1.透過實際技巧的練習,能
增進能力感與控制感。 2.體驗到被接納,可使當事人接納自己,進
而增進其價值感。 3.對內在需要的體驗與認可,能使當事人形成內
在價值。 4.自我了解與洞察和擴大自我概念應伴隨體驗或是改變觀
點出現。 5.體察自我評價的標準及更深內在自我不一致與衝突,對
自尊改變 似無絕對必要;但若已體察內在衝突,則需化解、統整
內在衝突 ,同時認可內在需求方能使諮商往前推進。 6.透
過改變觀點及擴大知覺,可調整、修正當事人之負向基模及訊 息
處理過程,使其以更實際的方式來看待自己與外界。 7.在本研究中
,人文、經驗取向之諮商師對低自尊當事人進行諮商 ,最可能有
直接的正向影響;而單純認知取向之諮商師則並不十 分適合低自
尊之當事人,但這仍需進一步深入探討方能確認。 四、自尊的內涵與
建構自尊的建構實不適合延用自我概念之建構,而應以自尊之本質來分類
來建構自尊較為接近與適合。 最後,研究者根據研究資料形成「諮商
中當事人自尊提昇之改變歷程架構圖,做為諮商工作與後續研究的參考。
To explore the characteristics and the change process oflow
self-esteem client during the counseling process,qualitative
research method was selected in this study. Fiveundergraduate
students participate in this study. Eachparticipant had at least
4 sessions of counseling and hadto finish the State Self-Esteem
Scale after each session. There are six groups of
characteristics of low self-esteemclients. They are: 1.look
at themselves with negative perception; 2.withdraw behavior
styles; 3. negative inner affection; 4.non-supported
family experience; 5.rigid standards for evaluating
themselves; 6.negative schemata for information process.
These characteristics were found in every low self-esteemclient
in this study. Four stages were found during the change
process oflowself-esteem. 1.Statement stage: All the
participants talk about theirnegative evaluation to themselves
at the beginning of counselingprocess. They were not satisfied
with their interpersonalrelationship or academic performance
under the rigid standardsof self expectation. 2.Explore
stage: During this stage, low self-esteem clientsexplore deeper
about their inner emotion, self evaluationstandards, and the
lost of their real needs. Most of the sixcharacteristics of low
self-esteem client mentioned above wouldappear before this
stage. 3.Experience stage: Sense of confidence came across
whenthe clientspractice the necessary skills within the
counselingsessions while sense of self-worth would appear when
theparticipants experienced the acceptance of counselor. On
theother hand, the experience of real need would help clients
tobuild their own self evaluation rules. 4.Promoting stage:
Clients could feel or evaluate positivelyto themselvesand
promoting their self-esteem while they achievedthis stage. The
deeper the clients experienced at experience stage,the easier
they could achieved this stage. Some clients return tothe
statement stage with another complain about themselves becauseof
their long frustration for seeking self-esteem.
