The purpose of this study were: (1) to investigate the training effects of unstable shoes; (2) the change of standing balance control and joint angle, joint moment, muscle activation, pedar and energy consumption while walking between wearing unstable shoes and regular sneakers; the change before and after 8 weeks wearing MBT shoes; (3) to investigate the adaptation of physical function after wearing MBT shoes prolong. There were 18 healthy adult females with their own running shoes in this study. All the tests included walking, balance standing and 1 km walking on barefoot, MBT and regular shoes. Then, all the participants have to wear MBT 8 hours per day, 5 days per week during 8 weeks. And all the tests would be done after 8 weeks. The statistics analysis software of SPSS 17.0 would be used on pre and post tests, α= .05. There were showed significant difference on A-P sway and sway velocity while bilateral closed-eye standing, and the standing time on right and left closed-eye standing barefoot before and after 8-week, but no significant difference on barefoot walking on the force plates. There were showed significant difference on hip angle at mid-stance and ankle joint moment during heel strike to toe off while walking before and after 8 weeks both in MBT and regular shoes. And the muscle activation (EMG) showed some significant difference before and after 8 weeks on low back and some low limbs muscle. The mean force of foot had significant difference between two kinds of shoes before and after 8 weeks. But there was no significant difference on energy consumption between two kinds of shoes. Conclusion: That could improve the balance control ability and training effect by wearing MBT, and that could change it more efficiently while walking because decreasing tibialis anterior muscle activation. Wearing MBT prolong could also improve the stability of body while walking. But it is no any significant effect on increasing body energy consumption via wearing MBT. Wearing MBT has some adaptation on physical function.
