Social network service (SNS) combined with the characteristics of Web 2.0, offers a variety of communication and interaction, to become a popular social media application platform. The research found that users have symptoms of social media fatigue (Somefat), Somefat let users are no longer actively to share information, create link relations, and even become a social media lurker or reduce using social media. The previous studies did not measure the scale of Somefat. Therefore, this study summarized related literature and resource conservation theory, to develop the framework of Somefat scale, and used confirmatory factor analysis to measure competitive model and Somefat scale.
The results showed that: (1), the best factor model of the Somefat scale was a second-order factor model and had four first-order factorial constructs, which included emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, lack of personal accomplishment, and risk of personal privacy; (2), the risk of personal privacy is the most important formation factor in the Somefat scale, followed by depersonalization, lack of personal accomplishment and emotional exhaustion; (3), the Somefat scale has good reliability, validity, goodness of fit and explanation power.
