「圖像」在視覺傳達及數位教材中扮演重要的角色,近年來由於資訊通訊科技迅速發展,各類電子產品已深入日常生活之中,大多數的人每天都會長時間接觸螢幕,因此螢幕圖像儼然成為視覺傳達的重要研究議題之一。本論文以視知覺為主軸,藉由觀看者與螢幕圖像架構成各項視知覺之實驗,進行觀看者對螢幕靜態圖像與動態圖像的探討。本研究架構立基於圖像傳達的心理歷程概念,加入視知覺的各種偏好,進行電腦螢幕圖像的視覺偏好實驗。本研究目的希望了解觀看者對螢幕圖像的複雜度偏好情形、真實度偏好情形、舒適度偏好情形等。本研究另外以類神經網路之「預測」特性為主,利用已知數據建立非線性系統模型,用於推估與預測本研究各章節實驗之數據,作另一種型式的統計技術,以進行螢幕圖像視知覺之偏好預測。
本研究在螢幕圖像的複雜度偏好結果發現:
(1) 中複雜度的圖像最受到觀看者喜愛,因為有適量的圖像要素、適當的引導功能和強大的傳達力,且視覺負荷量可被觀看者接受。
(2) 在螢幕圖像的真實度偏好結果發現:中真實度圖像表現著重關鍵功能的描繪,線條清晰且具有認知及傳達的優勢,令觀看者印象深刻及喜愛,因此是觀看者偏愛的主流圖像。
(3) 在螢幕移動圖像的舒適度偏好結果發現:在視知覺的感知中,稍快且向上的移動方向仍是眼睛主要觀察焦點。
本研究結果與圖像知覺相關研究、視覺心理學相關研究、認知負荷理論、倒U形理論等,經過比較與綜合討論後,大多可以相互呼應,研究結果亦可提供視覺傳達設計者及圖像資訊設計者,在電腦螢幕及其他相關數位螢幕上進行圖像設計時的參考。本研究以類神經網路模型,透過非線性數學模型的預測問卷調查的數據結果,輔以延伸模型預測問卷調查數據的趨勢特性,都能適度減輕問卷調查的工作量,且達到輔助判斷問卷答案的合理性。
An image plays an important role in visual communication and digital teaching materials. During the past decade, there had been rapid development in information and communication technologies. Different products of consumer electronics have become important parts of one’s everyday life. This then motivates us to study the visual communication of screen images. This study focuses on visual perception. In our experiments, observers watch static and moving images on a screen. Meanwhile, questionnaire investigations are conducted. The research is based on the psychology of visual communication and preference of visual perception. The experimental setup includes screens of computers. The discussed topics include one’s preference in visual complexity, visual reality, visual comforts, etc. In addition, this study also utilizes the neural network to establish a nonlinear model for predicting the data of investigations. This can be viewed as another type of statistical analyses in such topics.
(I) The investigated results of visual complexity show that images with middle level of visual complexity are most preferred by subjects. Because such images have suitable amount of components for guiding visual communication and the visual cognition load can be accepted by subjects.
(II) The investigated results of visual reality show that images with middle level of visual reality are most preferred by subjects. Because such images have clear lines representing the key functions so that the visual cognition and communication are easy.
(III) The investigated results of moving images show that images moving upward and slightly fast are easy to attract attentions of one’s eyes.
The research results of this dissertation are consistent with many existing studies in visual perception of images, visual psychology, cognitive load, inverted U theories. The results can provide important references to designers of visual communication, visual information and digital learning in designing images on screens of computers and mobile phones. With the use of neural networks, nonlinear models of investigated data are established. The neural-network based nonlinear model can help us predict the data distribution. This will reduce the load of investigation work and help one judge the rationality of questionnaire results.
