With the rapid growth of Chinese students in Thailand and its long-term, stable and developmental characteristics, Chinese students have become one of the important but neglected targets in Thai tourism market. The purpose of this study is to explore the influence of travel motivation, travel constraint and destination familiarity on intention to travel. In addition, the moderating role of cross-cultural adaptation is discussed. In this study, 401 questionnaires were collected from Chinese students studying in Thailand. The results found that Chinese students’ travel motivation, travel constraint and destination familiarity significantly affect travel intention, also, cross-cultural adaptation can positively and significantly moderate travel motivation, travel constraint and destination familiarity to affect travel intention. Finally, theoretical and practical implications were discussed.
