創傷是導致臺灣地區四十歲以下具有工作能力的年輕人死亡的第一大原因。創傷不 只個人受影響，而是整個家庭、社會、國家遭受嚴重傷害，因此它是一個非常重要的衛生醫 療問題。創傷登錄為創傷系統中最基本和重要的架構，所有的研究發展、教育和創傷照護的 改進都要從創傷登錄做起。幾乎所有重要創傷醫療決策，諸如創傷預防、到院前緊急救護系 統、創傷急救開刀、創傷照護品質、一般公眾之創傷教育、創傷保健、醫療公衛之研究、社 區創傷系統的發展，和創傷預防的立法，及各種的研究發展，都需要以創傷登錄為依據。因 此建立一個可共同使用的合理、實用、可靠並具公信力的創傷登錄資料庫是很重要的。為使 創傷資訊普遍化並能更進一步標準化和精確化，我們建議定義要標準化，並建立有公信力的 資料稽查程序，同時以全國性的認證方式教育資料輸入人員，以保證創傷登錄資料的正確。 建立一個全國統一並標準化的創傷登錄資料庫也是臺灣外傷醫學會未來努力的目標。

　　　　　Trauma is the leading cause of death at ages below 40 in Taiwan, primarily affecting young and productive citizens. Trauma is known to involve the family, society, and nation, beside the person injured. Therefore it is a very important public health problem for us to resolve. The trauma registry, a basic and key part of viable trauma system, should be adopted for research, education, and performance improvement. Trauma prevention, pre-hospital EMS, trauma resusicitation, quality improvement in trauma care, public and health care provider education, health insurance, community development, legislative efforts, and research are all affected by conclusions drawn from the trauma registry. An effort to standardize data collection and interpretation is clearly of paramount importance and Then trauma registry can be used for research with a reasonable assurance of validity and reliability. We hope the use of trauma registry is prevalent throughout the country, meanwhile, a greater emphasis needs to be focused on ensuring the standardization and accuracy of this valuable information. Our recommendations include the establishment of standardized definitions and auditing procedures and national certifications for data entry personnel A uniform trauma registry database with standardized data collection is also among the goals of Formosa Association for the Surgery of Trauma in the future.
