國家圖書館自民國68年起開始進行臺閩地區圖書館統計調查工作，多作來主要參考國際標準組織及國外先進國家之圖書館統計標準。民國82年，我國圖書館統計標準CNS13151正式公布後，國家圖書館進行之「民國86年臺閩地區圖書館調查」係依照該標準中的定義、統計項目及計算方式，蒐集臺閩地區各級圖書館之統計資料。本文分別就圖書館統計之目的與功能、圖書館統計標準之制定、臺閩地區圖書館調查之實施加以析述，並兼論大陸與臺灣圖書館統計標準之異同，文中就以CNS13151為基礎進行之全國圖書館統計調查結果顯示，指出其適用程度及涵蓋統計項目不足之處，期以作為CNS13151修訂之參考，並促進兩岸圖書館統計資料之分享與統計工作經驗之交流。

　　　　　The National Central Library (NCL) has initiated the nationwide library statistical survey since 1979. Before the CNS13151 Library Statistics Standard was developed and adopted in the Republic of China in 1993, the NCL mainly applied ISO 2789 Information and Documentation-International Library Statistics and other foreign standards available to collect statistics form all types of libraries around the country. In 1998 「1997 Library Survey of Taiwan － Fukien Area」 was conducted in coincidence with CNS13151, including the definitions of terms used in the questionnaires, statistical data categories, and use of measurement. First, the paper illustrates the function of library statistics and the development of international library statistics standards. Then it reports the results of the study of the application of CNS13151 on the 「1997 Library Survey of Taiwan － Fukien Area」and provides some suggestions to update CNS13151, including lack of usage statistics on electronic accesses, and to promote its wide use. In addition, the comparison between GB/T13191 Statistical Standard of Information and Documentation Organization (the mainland China) and CNS13151 has been made. In order to facilitate Chinese library statistics resources sharing, it calls for libraries cross Taiwan Straight to cooperate their revision for both library statistics standards.
