面對即將到來的二十一世紀，值此不確定的年代，要預測未來尤感困難。但洞燭機先，釐訂發展大計應是當務之急。本文旨在探討二十一世紀圖書資訊學教育發展的趨勢，由於美國是圖書館教育的發源地，一向領導全球發展，海峽二岸圖書資訊學教育近年蓬勃發展，大陸與臺灣各具特色，可相互觀摩合作。因此本文以美國、大陸與臺灣三地圖書資訊學教育為研究對象，首先陳述三地現行圖書資訊學教育體系，其次探討三地圖書資訊學教育近十年的重要發展與興革，最後根據近年的重要發現以推論未來二十一世紀圖書資訊學教育的趨勢。

As the 21st Century is approaching, this article mainly discusses future trends on the Library and Information Science Education in the coming century. At first, it reviews important progresses made among the United States, Mainland China, and Taiwan over the past ten years. In conclusion, based on the above findings, it predicts ten future directions on the Library and Information Science Education of the 21st Century.
