In the period of Dauguang, the school of Zhexi and Changzhou coexisted with each other and so the Ci theory in Qing Dynasty assumes a state of mingling with and mutual benefical to each other. Under the ever-aggratating situation of domestic trouble and foreign invasion, the school of Zhexi in its late stage changed its idea and give much importance to the meaning of Ci; in the same time the school of Changzhou with Zhouji as its represontative modifics the inclination of ignoring artistry which existed in Anthology of Ci Zhanghuiyan and absorbs actively the reasonable elements of emphasing the build of Ci in Zhe-school theory. For explaining the above-mentioned theory, the article describes the trend of development of Ci theory from four aspects: namely the principal aim of creation going from rigid rhythm to equal emphasis on rhythm and emotion of Ci, the expression of emotion and ideal going from hidden bitterness and discontent to conern of vissisitude of the country, the conveyance of meaning going from true emotion and feeling to emphasis on“Something to repose his trust in his creation”,and the object of imitation going from South Song or North Song to emphasis on both south and north school.
