This paper is an inquiry into the contemplation of Zen from the point of view of mysticism. The thesis consists of three parts (1)sunyata of parjna; (2)buddhata of non-buddhata; (3)the mystical characteristics of Chinese Zen-buddhism: (a)the ineffability of mystery; (b)the passivity of parajna; (c)noetic quality of prajna; (d)the paradox of buddhata (e)the Unit of I-hood and buddhata.
