圖書館屬於公共開放空間，除了一般公共場所的必要設施外，圖書館中更有豐富的資源及各類型的資料，提供多種的服務。圖書館的標示系統即在表明各類資料與服務的公告與指引，也是圖書館服務環境中屬於視覺傳達的工具。一般圖書館中，對於服務與館藏的指引較少使用圖形標示，其原因係在於表達的意象較為抽象，不易以圖型表示。朝陽科技大學圖書館應用圖形標示，一方面希望能塑造圖書館的視覺特色，一方面希望能緩和使用者進入陌生環境的緊張情緒，藉以拉近二者之間的距離。 此個案研究，旨在了解圖書館使用圖形標示的可行性，了解圖書館使用圖形標示的效果，使用者對圖形標示的認識正確率及圖形標示對圖書館行銷服務的影響。

　　　　　Library is an organization for information dissemination. Patrons come to library because they have information needs. Signage in the library can be served as a connection of patrons' information needs and the library resources and services. Libraries have hardly been using the pictorial signs effectively. Because of the resources and services in libraries are too abstract to express with pictorial signs. The Library of Chaoyang University of Technology (CYUT) uses the pictorial signs not only for the purpose of utilities but also for the resources and services. The aim of this research is to realize the efficiency of signage systems and recognition of pictorial signs in the Library of CYUT.
