本文對於美國東亞圖書館所藏中文古籍，尤其是善本書的收藏做了較全面的敘述，並從宋、元、明、清的不同版本、抄本，稿本及有特點的圖書等層面做了揭示。同時，也指出東亞圖書館應該在原有的基礎上史上層樓，包括：編制各種專題目錄，如：撰寫書志，從而更進一步達到資源共建共享的境界。

This article provides a detailed description on collections in the East Asian Libraries located in the United States, especially in the area on rare book collections of those libraries. The author discussed and compared various editions, manuscripts and transcriptions on books from the Song, Yuan and Ming Dynasties. The authors also pointed out that these East Asian Libraries may be series on specific subjects to reach the goal of sharing resources and information among themselves.
