According to the Christian view of human being, two ideas prevail: human being is the image of God and he is also creature. The former sees human nature as transcendent, the latter as limited and related to the world. When the necessity of interpreting the meaning of these ideas arises, the two current philosophical notions were borrowed: "logos" and "destiny." Destiny is related to life and human being shares the life of God. As life process is a historical and existential becoming with a beginning and an end, its ultimate end is union with God. However, the process of becoming takes place under the guidance of the "light" of human intellect, and according to Christian tradition, this light is a reflect of the divine "Light." In this way, the destiny of human intellect is the contemplation of divine truth in eternity. Man is the image of God means that human being is a reflection of God, and this reflection can be seen in his structure and mission. In principle, human intellect can know all things, and in the process of knowing, it produced a "mental word", the expression of this word reveals the truth nature of things and enables it to affirm the ground of their existence. From the point of view of mission, to human being is entrusted the protection and administration of the world. In this way, man participates in the "work" of God. "The image of God" also refers to the social nature of human being. The "give and take" of human life is fully exercised in human community. The power to give and to take is the expression of love. As God is love, the image of God means the refection of this love. This paper attempts first to understand theoretically the notion of "Logos." Then, it explains how it becomes the key notion in the Christian understanding of "Heaven-Man" relation. Finally, it tries to see how later on the notion of "human person" develops from it.
