本文通過對張西平新著的評論來發揮作者本人有關中西文化傳播典文化轉型的見解。作者指出張著的最大特色在於使用雙向互動與文化轉型的眼光來描寫明末清初的中西文化交流,為學術界提供了一幅較為完整的明末清初中西文化交流的全景圖,並且指明了該階段中西文化交流具有平等交流的性質,由此可以對以往研究傾向起糾偏作用。 作者在文中指出:按照文化傳播學所闡述的一般規律,強勢文化必定向弱勢文化流動,以至於淹沒、取代弱勢文化,對這一觀點的認同使得許多學者認為任何文化交流不可能真正地具有平等性質,並推定文化傳播必然導致文化衝突,真正的會通與融合是不可能的;但若承認歷史上曾有過平等的文化交流,那麼「水往低處流」就不再是文化傳播的鐵定規律,強勢文化取代弱勢文化也不再是文化傳播的通則。 作者在文中還指出:在文化系統中,宗教與哲學同處於精神文化的核心層面。跨文化的文化傳播有無宗教與哲學層面的交流與融合,是判定文化傳播深入程度的標誌之一。傳播方為了達到更好的傳播效果,會針對接受方的實際情況對其宗教哲學、思想作形式和內容上的調整和修飾,而接受方則會根據自已的實際需要對外來思想作翻譯、詮釋、再創造的工作,這種雙向的詮釋和創造活動,提供了精神文化融合的契機。在當今世界全球化的趨勢下,中華學人應當抱著攀登世界巔峰的崇高理想,抱著平穩的心態去與西方學者進行平等的交流和對話。
In this paper, the author expresses his own idea about the cultural dissemination and transformation between China and the West through the review of Zhang Xiping’s new book, the History of Philosophical and Religious Exchange in Early Period between China and Europe. In author’s view, the greatest feature of the book is to describe the cultural exchanges and dissemination in the later Ming and early Qing Dynasty, supplying a whole scene of it to point out the equal character which it has., thus to correct the previous relevant ideas in this research area. The author says, according to the general law of cultural dissemination interpreted by the study of culture, the culture in strong and high position must expand and replace those cultures in weak and low positions. The acceptance of the idea made many scholars to believe that any cultural dissemination has been led to the cultural confrontation, there is never any equal cultural exchange and real fusion. Therefore, if we fond there was an equal cultural dissemination in the history, the water runs to the lower place will not be a definite law in the cultural exchange, neither the strong culture replaces the weak culture. It is also the author’s idea that in a cu1tural system religion and philosophy is located in the kernel of the spiritual layer. Whether there is or not the exchange of religion and philosophy among cultures, which is a measure to judge the degree of cultural exchange and dissemination. For the effectiveness of the exchange, the side of the spread will adjust its form and content of religion and philosophy, while the side of the receive also adopt the foreign thought through the interpretation, the translation and recreation. This kind of mutual interpretation and recreation supplies an occasion for spiritual fusion. Under the current globalization, the Chinese scholars should promote the equal exchange and dialogue with a peaceful metal attitude and high ideal to climb the cu1tural peak of the world.
