Performance-based design differs from traditional prescriptive design in that specific methods for achieving compliance with the design intent. The review of performance-based designs typically requires greater knowledge and time than reviewing prescriptive designs. If done properly, performance-based design offers many benefits that tare not available when using prescriptive design. We hope to collect the cases on how to examine the performance-based design in building and fire administration, then we can sort out some important factors of the performance-based design. And we hope to provide some suggestions of how to integrate the examination of building and fire certificating administration.
