The long debate between M. J. Sandel, the leading thinker of Communitarianism, and John Rawls centered on the question of priority between right and good. Sandel was strongly dissatisfied with Rawls's view on the priority of right in 'A theory of Justice', and expressed his criticism in his book 'Liberalism and the Limit of Justice'. This paper intends to investigate the debate of these two thinkers using the theme of "Weather the right is prior to the good" as a way of approach, then to formulate some personal points of view on this subject.
