Mr. Wan-li Chu (1907-1979) was the director of National Central Library, the chair of Department of Chinese Literature in National Taiwan University, and the director of Institute of History and Philology in Academia Sinica. He was elected as the academician in 1972. He specialized in Confucian classics, ancient history, oracle, and catalog edition. This article focuses on his contribution and theory of documentation.
