The historical data and artistic value of the Chinese seals lie in the meaning of characters. The schola's seal-engraved art and philology has a close relation because the Chinese characters were implemented and engraved into the seals. Since seal-engraved arts regard the Chinese characters as the theme, the exactness of Chinese characters implemented in the seals is much emphasized. The main purpose of the article is to discuss the words in the seal-engraved works, and the article divides the chosen words into three parts. The first part is the words taken from the ancient seals. The second is the words drawn on the antiques, for instance the bone, the inscription on ancient bronze objects, the stone, simple silks, etc., or those taken from the two book, Shuo Wen and Han Jian. The third is words implemented by the different conditions, such as the original words, or words from those with the same characters, with the same sound, or words from which were borrowed, or the formal and informal words, or words of which only share parts, etc.. In above, from the view of the words in the seals, the words do not only be taken from the ancient seals, but also from parts of the books and other philology-related implementation. Therefore, there is a close relation between the words of seals and the philology.
