In some historical materials recorded in Hansu (Han’s Records) that are copied from, or imitate, the content of Shiji (Historical Records) and from some narrations in Hansu that share the same chapter or section titles with that of Shiji’s, Ban Gu often made revisions or deletions in some key areas, resulting in an alteration on the original (Shiji) articles’ purposes, golas and viewpoints. Among them, the attitudes on recording disasters and anomaly can quite reflect Si Maqian’s and Ban Gu’s Heaven-man thoughts. My paper compares, one by one, the related records and narrations, which share the same chapter or section titles, in Shiji and Hansu and selectively analyzes and discusses the key points from the records, expositions or comments, depending on if said points can exhibit the two men’s thought tendencies, from the expositions, comments and narrations in different chapters or sections.
