The National Taiwan Ocean University established its Institution of Education in 2002 in a strong team of faculty who designed the Institute's curriculum and instruction around marine education as a basis to provide one of the best teacher education programs in the nation. After two years of running the program, teachers and students alike have all accumulated basic conceptions and experiences in how to undertake marine education from elementary to higher education. This article reviews and reflects the curriculum and instruction of the marine education program. We also conducted a survey on students' perceptions of the main curriculum--Marine Environmental Education. Results of the survey showed that four courses were deemed important. These were: Environmental Ethics, Marine Pollution and Its Prevention, Objectives of Environmental Education, and Strategies and Methodologies of School Marine Environmental Education. Whereas courses that interested them the most were Marine Park, Marine Ecology, and Environmental Ethics. Students also felt that some courses required more efforts, such as solving the problems of lack of analytical materials and references for Analysis of Marine Issues, Ideals and Implements in School Environmental Education, and Strategies and Methodologies of School Marine Environmental Education.
