二次大戰結束，中國取得世界五強的地位，然在外交上卻始末能一展身手，而愛到其他強國，尤其是美蘇的制約；在內政上，亦受中共強大武裝實力之威脅，究其原因，中蘇友好同盟條約可謂最重要之關鍵。中蘇友好同盟條約，乃王世杰就任國民政府外交部長以後，首次代表中國簽訂的條約。該約簽定後，卻因蘇聯之違約，使王氏頗受責難。然中蘇友好同盟條約，在當時實有不得不答之壓力，且該約之簽定，為中國政府既經決定之政策。以王世杰為該約簽字代表而加以攻擊，對王氏而言，實有不公。

China has become the one of five powers in the world after WWII. But her diplomacy tact cannot be used under the limits of other powers, especially Russia and the United States. On the internal affairs, China was under the heart of domestic war. Wang Shih-chieh signed after his inauguration of Foreign Minister of China. But Wang was criticized because of Russia’s violation of the treaty. The treaty cannot be refused by China in the situation of that time, however, and to sign the treaty has been the policy. It is unfair that to fault Wang’s responsibility for the treaty.
