本文利用Fried et al. (1999)所發展出來的四階段DEA模式探討經營環境對臺灣地區2003年56家國際觀光旅管的影響，並衡量其純粹管理效率。實證結果發現：經營環境因素會對投入差額變量以及傳統生產效率的評估產生影響；在去除經營環境因素的影響；在去除經營環境因素的影響後，不同經營型態與不同區位際觀光旅館彼此間的純粹管理效率並不具有顯著的差異。

The study applies four-stage DEA procedure to calculate pure managerial efficiency of 56 international tourist hotels in Taiwan in 2003. We found input slacks and the efficiency scores are affected by the operating environments. “Chain-operated hotel” and “resort hotel” are favorable operating environments. By significance in pure managerial efficiency due to differences in management style and location characteristics.
