Chinese dance means that it is based on Chinese culture and history and presents multi-dimensional culture by human bodily posture. As culture accumulates, the dance art could become the object of aesthetics. The aesthetic imagery of Chinese dance has two parts: one is the meaning, which includes both the deep unconscious level and the surface conscious level; and the other one is the appearance, which means the object of aesthetics. The object of aesthetics can be divided into two levels: one is the reality level which represents objectivity; and the other is the visionary level which represents the fictitious object of consciousness and the important content and organized kinetic energy of aesthetics. The kinetic energy relates to Carl Gustav Jung's collective unconsciousness prototype theory. The flowing out of prototype symbolizes the infiltration process, and it produces the aesthetic imagery. This connection with history is hidden or continuously renewed and it has unconscious energy and function, which we call "the hidden function". Chinese dance in Chinese culture of hidden traces function presents surmounted and integrated capability; its aesthetic imagery keeps the roots of Chines culture while continuing to re-create.
