此篇論文旨在針對不同讀者需求及機器譯本之多重使用目的，提出三種機器翻譯編輯訓練模式。此三種模式包括 【語篇】、【語域】與【內容】相關編輯，並輔以許多實例說明。另一方面，此三種編輯訓練模式也顧及翻譯受訓者之不同語言程度，提供 T 循序漸進、由淺入深機器翻譯教育之框架。簡言之，本論文不同於【概括式】編輯訓練，而是強史宗玲調【分級式】與【分類式】編輯訓練，以配合真實世界之翻譯需求，提供適當之機器翻譯教育。

This paper raises a proposal for three types of customized training in MT (machine translation) editing to meet the needs of diverse audiences and multiple end uses of MT texts. The proposed MT editing includes discourse-specific, register-specific, and content-specific editing that are tailored to the varied expectations and processing abilities of high-technical, semi-technical and low-technical audiences. Furthermore, to match the variables of trainee translator's translation competence, the audience-oriented proposal outlines a framework of progressive, easy-to-challenging training procedures as functional guidelines for the implementation of effective MT education. In short, different from the “generalized” editing training, this paper stressed the importance of “categorized” and “classified” pre/post-MT editing training to relate academic MT education to the translation needs of the real world.
