The purpose of this study was to analyze the content of Taiwanese newspapers report on the FIFA futsal world championship Chinese Taipei 2004. The content of top five newspapers- Min Sheng Daily, Liberty Times, China Times News, United Daily News and Apple Daily, were collected as the subjects for this study. The content analysis was adopted as the instrumentations of this study. The research period were from November 20, 2004 to December 6, 2004. The results were as follows: l.Taiwanese newspapers report on the FIFA futsal world championship Chinese Taipei 2004 were 19.6% of all sports news. 2.In the reported styles, photos were the most; the next, general news; and then table, comment and supplementary story. The reported styles were different among these newspapers (χ2= 12S.175, df= 16, *p<.05 ). 3. In the reported objects of nation, the better performance of a nation it would get the higher rate of media exposure. Chinese Taipei also had high media exposure as a local team. The reported objects on photos were similar among these newspapers. In the reported objects of people, the most was player; the next, audience; and then, administrative personnel, coach and referee. The reported objects of people were different among these newspapers (χ2=39.872, df=20, *p<.05). 4. In the reported contents of the articles, the most was result and comment of the competition; the next, the analysis before competition; and then, the players or team; supplementary story, etc. The themes of the reports were different among these newspapers (χ2= 124.264, df=48, *p<.05). 5.Newspapers show the sporting world to the audience by using more photos of happy scences as well as dynamic photos with more than three people on them. According to the analysis above, it showed apparently that Taiwanese newspapers pay a lot of attention to the FIFA futsal world championship Chinese Taipei 2004.
