The purpose of this study is to understand the leisure styles, participation, and barriers of junior high school teachers. The results of this study are valuable for offering suggestions of planning leisure activities for junior high school teachers and retirees. The data was collected through questionnaires sent to 401 junior high schoolteachers from 18 schools in Hsinchu City and County. A total of 350 questionnaires were completed and analyzed in this study. The descriptive statistics, t-test, one-factor analysis of variance, and correlative analysis were used to determine the relationships between leisure barriers and the attributes of junior high school teachers. The study results are shown as follows. 1. Leisure barriers are highly correlated to teachers' gender, ages, marital status, senior status, and fields of courses teaching, but not the school locations and administrative positions. 2. The most popular leisure activities for junior high school teachers are indoor activities. Time is a crucial barrier for leisure activities.
