This study analyzed the correlations of scoring factors (including attacks, blocks, serves, and opponent errors; the cited data are announced by VIS, Universiade 2005 Izmir) and match results (winning percentages) in the final rounds of the first four women’s volleyball teams, Universiade 2005 Izmir. Taking the winning percentages as reference, and scoring factors as comparison, this study applied the approach of the grey relational analysis in the grey system theory, and the results are as follows. First, the rankings of the average scores of the first four teams in scoring factors are: (1) Attacks: TPE (14.304), Poland (12.720), PRC (12.370), Italy (11.833); (2) Blocks: PRC (2.852), Italy (2.792), Poland (2.680), TPE (1.652); (3) Serves: Poland (1.400), Italy (1.333), TPE (1.261), PRC (1.148); (4) Opponent Errors: TPE (7.522), Poland (6.960), PRC (6.148), Italy (6.042); and (5) the correlations between scoring factors and the match results can be found by applying the grey relational analysis. The rankings of the scoring factors that influence the match results of the first four women's volleyball teams in Universiade 2005 Izmir are: attacks (r1=0.881), opponents (r2=0.865), blocks (r3=0.728), and serves (r4=0.694).
