Although Tamsui is no more than a small town, it has played an important role in the history of Taiwan, and is still a place of attraction to many a visitor. These are due to its rich past and abundant natural and cultural heritage. It will be rewarding to study Tamsui by working on both local and wider scopes, and by dealing with collective memory and present life.
