建構初、中、高及國家級運動員選材金字塔系統工程，挑選具運動天賦的青少年予以系統科學化培育，為臺灣高水準的競技訓練源源不絕地輸送後備人才，同時建置優秀運動員電腦資料庫，便利各級運動教練追蹤選材，是我國競技運動事業永續發展的當務之急。本研究旨在探討優秀桌球運動員選材，個案研究桌球奇才吳志祺成才歷程與技術特徵；本研究採用錄影觀察、文獻綜評、事後回溯及綜合歸納等定性與定量研究方法，研究工具選用「桌球三段技術指標評量記錄表」，剖析吳志祺選手技、戰術應用特性；所得原始資料經Excel統計處理，研究結果經分析與討論後，歸納出以下結論：一、吳志祺在發球段，以短球控制對方上手搶攻係得分之鑰。二、接發球之撥攻和擺短，達成反控制對手目的；伺機起板搶攻，務必降低失誤率。三、相持對抗階段是勝負關鍵之一，吳志祺尚待提昇來回球競爭力。四、桌球運動員的選材、育才、成才，幕後運動科學的輔助已是國際趨勢，體能以生理學為基準，技術以力學為依歸，戰術調整以心理學為量度，心、技、體融合為一，完美運動表現。

The most fundamental and urgent things fro the sustained development of competition sports in Taiwan are to build up players selection pyramid system from bottom up, of primary, medium and high levels as well national level athletes to make the back up reserve for high standard competition training, and at the meantime, establish computer database of good athletes. The study is to explore the selection of good young table tennis players and particular interests in the process of culturing gifted player, Wu Tzu-Chi and his skill features. Methods: Site video taping for observation, literature study for assessment and following up afterward and generally concluding, as well as qualitative research. The tool for research is Table Tennis 3-Stage Skill indicator Evaluation Records to analyze the skill and tactical characteristics of Wu Tzu-Chi. To collect data, obtained main results after discuss: 1. the key to his scoring is short service controlling the speedy counter during serve stage. 2. Retiring service, volley and drop to counter control the proponent and waiting to swing bat to fight back, 3. At the stage of rivaling, it is one of the keys to victory, and Wu Tzu-Chi need to improve his ability in returning, 4. The selection, incubation and building gifted player and the sport science aid for table tennis players are already the international trend, physically, it is based on physiology, technically, it is based on dynamics and tactically, psychology is the base, only with the perfect match of physical, mind and skill can a perfect sports performance be attained.
