The purposes of this study were to investigate the principals' transformational leadership and athletic directors' morale, and the relationships between them. The method adopted in the research was questionnaire survey. The subjects included 408 athletic directors from elementary schools in three counties of southern Taiwan. Based on questionnaires from 262 athletic directors, the collected data were analyzed through SPSS software, the main findings are as follows: (1) The level of principals' transformational leadership is rated as average. (2) The level of athletic directors' morale is above average. (3) Athletic directors' background variables on principals' transformational leadership: seniority result in significant differences, while gender, martial status, educational background, and school size show no significant difference. (4) Athletic directors' background variables on athletic directors' morale: gender and seniority result in significant differences, while martial status, educational background, and school size show no significant difference. (5) Significant canonical correlation was found between principals' transformational leadership and athletic directors' morale.
