節慶活動的舉辦，不僅形塑了城鄉特色形象，同時也增加了文化觀光的經濟效益。然而，擁有12年節慶歷史的宜蘭國際童玩節在2007年因經濟收益不佳而宣布停辦，不僅令人惋惜，也值得深思未來節慶活動的發展。因此本文以永續發展的觀點探討未來節慶活動的發展策略，並提出以下建議：一、整合中央部會發展計畫，更多地方的凝視與形塑；二、以文化地理學視野，打破319鄉鎮的迷思；三、節慶資源的持續利用；四、納入承載量的觀念；五、累積地區的文化，活化文史工作團體；六、強化地區居民的參與。

Hosting festival activities not only build the city’s characteristic image, but also increase the cultural sightseeing economic benefit simultaneously. However, the I-Lan international children's folklore & folkgame festival which had lasting 12 years been suspended in 2007 because of the economic loss. That made a big regret and will be worth rethinking the future development of hosting festival activities. Therefore, this article followed the viewpoints of sustainable developments to discuss the future development strategies of hosting festival activities. The proposed suggestions as: 1.integrate the policies and plans of central government, to offer more development blueprints for local places, 2.by the vision of culture geography, breaks the regional restriction of 319 towns, 3. continue utilizing the resources, 4. subsume the concept of capacity loading, 5. accumulate local cultures, active the history working group; 6. strengthen local inhabitant's participation.
