The purpose of this study was to explore the differences of key point score in women's volleyball between 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2008 Taiwan Collegiate Volleyball Tournament. Subjects in this study included the top four women's volleyball teams in the 2008 Olympic Games-Brazil, USA, China and Cuba, and the top four teams at the Elite Division Level-National Taiwan Normal University, National Kaohsiung Normal University, Taipei Physical Education College and National Tung-Haw University. Data was analyzed by descriptive and t-test with SPSS for Windows 12.0. The followings are the results: 1. According to the percentage ranking, the key point score at the 2008 Olympics and the Collegiate Tournament were attacking, errors on the other team, blocking and serving. 2. At the Beijing Olympics, Cuba had the highest point scored by attacking, Brazil had the most in point scored by blocking, China and Cuba had the highest point scored by serving, China also had the highest scored by errors on the other team. As for the Taiwan Collegiate Women's Volleyball Tournament, National Taiwan Normal University had the highest point scored by attacking, National Kaohsiung Normal University had the most pointed score by blocking, National Taiwan Normal University had the highest point scored by serving, the National Tung-Hwa University scored the most point scored by errors on the other team. 3 Overall, teams in the Beijing Olympics had the higher percentage in point scored by attacking and blocking than the teams in the Taiwan Collegiate Tournament. On contrary, teams in the Taiwan Collegiate Tournament had a higher percentage of point scored by errors on the other team. In addition, the ranking of point score was the same at the both tournaments. In summary, the top four teams in the 2008 Olympics had a higher point scored by attacking and blocking. The four teams in the Collegiate Volleyball Tournament had the most point scored by errors on the other team. Therefore, our women's volleyball training should focus on effective attacking and blocking.
