前十字韌帶受傷後破壞了韌帶中的神經受器,由於受器本身具有回饋中樞的功能,因此,除了周邊神經系統之外,也對中樞神經系統產生影響。透過各種定量研究的方式,包括:自主活化程度、大腦皮質脊髓徑興奮性與大腦皮質內的調控的評估,許多研究已觀察到前十字韌帶受傷者的中樞神經系統產生適應性的改變,相關的機制將在本文中逐一探討。
