加壓訓練是一種新型態的肌力訓練法,透過血流限制的手段來配合目標肌群的低強度負荷運動,可達到肌肉量增加的效果。一般加壓部位是在四肢的近端,當下肢加壓時再配合步行運動,將可鍛鍊下肢肌群。除了使肌肉能力提升外,加壓訓練也會改變一些神經肌肉、能量代謝與內分泌等生理狀態。訓練時,壓力太大會傷害身體組織,太小則降低訓練效果,因此需控制壓力值在適當的安全範圍下。目前下肢加壓步行訓練的相關研究主要以健康年輕人爲對象,因此未來有必要投入更多其他相關族群的研究,以釐清實施訓練的可行性。
