人在情緒產生時，除了從表情、聲音、身體動作可以觀察、聽到、看到之外，還有一整套的生理變化，本研究礙於涉及範圍過於龐雜及專業，僅以網路常見的情緒表情符號為主要探討主軸。文化是一種特定生活方式，它影響著人們的日常生活，且包含了一種社會生活的態度；性別的差異是因為男女生理上的差別，而男女能夠了解不同的性別認同角色，是因為他們在生理上尌被規範會產生如此的影響，及受時代性別刻板印象所束縛。本研究受測對象以台灣、日本、美國為主要研究對象，探討不同文化背景、不同性別的大學生對情緒表情符號之情緒反應的認知，及進一步比較其認知差異。研究結果顯示，每一種情緒表情符號具有多種的情緒感受，且每一種情緒也會有不同的感受強度，在各情緒表情符號的認知上，三個不同文化的大學生會因文化背景的不同，而有顯著的差異現象：在男女比較上幾乎未達顯著差異，即性別對各情緒表情符號的認知程度沒有影響，但進一步分析男女在各情緒表情符號的認知程度之平均數，台灣及日本的大學生，普遍女性平均數高於男性平均數，而美國大學生普遍以男性平均數高於女性平均數，顯示台灣、日本的女大學生及美國的男大學生，在觀察人的情緒變化上，表現的較為細膩及敏銳。

When people come into emotions, there are a whole set physiological changes beyond the expressions, sounds, body movements that we can observe, hear and see. This research obstructs in involving the numerous and specialized scopes, it only takes the common symbols of emotion expressions as the main axle. The culture is one specific life style. It affects people's daily life, and it contains one kind of social life manner. The differences of genders are because that male and female are physiology different. The male and female can realize different gender roles and can identify them because they have already been influenced by the fixed gender impressions traditionally. This research aims to measure the people in Taiwan, Japan and the USA mainly. It wants to discuss about the recognitions of the symbols of the emotion responses within the college students of different genders and backgrounds, and it further wants to compare their cognition differences. The finding shows that each mood expression symbol has many different kinds of mood feelings, and each mood will also have different feelings intensity. In various cognitions of mood expression symbols, it appears to have remarkable different phenomena within three college students from different cultural backgrounds.There are not very remarkable differences between male and female. Even genders have not affected to various cognition degrees of mood expression symbols. But further to analyze the averages of the men and women in various mood expression symbols, the average of female is higher than the one of male generally within the college students in Taiwan and Japan. But the condition is just the opposite in the USA. It shows that the female college students in Japan and the male college students in the USA have more exquisite and keen observations on people’s emotional changes.
