In this paper, the concept of faculty is discussed from the viewpoints of different Buddhism Schools. There are 22 faculties. It is shown that the concept of 22-faculty existed in every school, which indicates that the concept of 22-faculty originates from Buddha. Then, a static structure and a dynamic structure are proposed to explore the relationships among those 22 faculties. Finally, the relationship between life and 22-faculty is discussed and points out that the Buddha gave the teaching of 22-faculty for explaining the rebirth of life and the extinction of life.
