This paper mainly probes into the level of approval of the prison volunteers in the eastern Taiwan area to the three toolboxes in Habitual Domains in terms of the gender and age differences and their working philosophy, and examines the situation of their applying these principles to their work of edification. It attempts to understand and further predict the corresponding individual approval and applying situation to the seven bright faith and the eight basic methods as well as the nine principles for deep knowledge. The research method is the questionnaire survey procedure, using the independent samples two-way ANOVA, the dependent samples t-test and the multi-stepwise regression analysis to collect and analyze the statistics of the research material. The findings show that the concept of all helping and contributing and the attitude of gratitude and dedication in the seven bright faith in HD best fit the prison volunteers' working philosophy. In addition, the gender and age differences indicate an interaction effect. That is, the older the male volunteers are, the better their philosophy matches the bright faith. However, among the group of volunteers aged 60 and above, the female volunteers’ philosophy significantly better matches the faith than the male volunteers’, whereas among the group aged 31-40, the males significantly better matches than the females does. Furthermore, the level of approval of the female volunteers is significantly higher than the male volunteers’ to the eight basic methods and nine principles, but there is no significant difference in terms of age. Finally, there is a significant variance between the volunteers’ level of approval to the eight basic methods and nine principles and their applying situation. The results show that the individual volunteers mostly approve the eight basic methods and nine principles in HD, but have their reservations about applying these principles to the work of edification. This paper has also discovered that the level of approval of the prison volunteers to the nine principles effectively predict their corresponding approval and attitude to the bright faith (β=.512 ***); the amount of variation explained is 26.3%.
