From the point of view for the history of Chinese tea culture, the long period from the Han Dynasty to the Southern-Northern Dynasty can be regarded as ”the pre-Tang Dynasty”. During this period, tea drinking is the meaning of regional, and only purpose of thirst. Till the Tang Dynasty, tea culture have changed, evolved into performance art, tea etiquette, and formed complex tea knowledge. The key event which fueled the development of the tea culture is that Lu Yu wrote the ”tea” and generated tea-drinking ceremony. In such condition, many monks also addicted to tea and performed many excellent tea poetries. In this paper, the author will analyze the monk tea poem to rebuild the tea living conditions of monks in the Tang Dynasty.
