The Taipei MRT, a major government project, has a significant meaning and impact on the nation’s economic development. Therefore, after completion, the MRT will not only be a very valuable asset, but will also be a great benefit for the country, society, and the public. In order to reduce the risks associated with the underlying complexity and uncertainty that exists in MRT projects, the nuclear power quality assurance management standard has been applied to DORTS’ quality assurance management system. In addition, risk management has been included as a key part of implementation policy. Through the understanding of various risks during project implementation, countermeasures will be adopted to reduce project risks and ensure safety. This article aims to give details about a variety of risks encountered during MRT construction and the implementation process of risk management.
