The purpose of this study was to examine how the feed training technique was applied in badminton training. As indicated in Shyh-Ching Chi’s conclusion in 1999, the skills of badminton include Basic Sporting Skills, Applied Sporting Skills, and Practical Field Training. The training of the feed training technique is carried out in 3 levels (Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced), and was perfected through a “Simulated Training Match” where players can gain some practical experience. Through extensive research and analysis on this subject and considerable, hands-on experience in Badminton Training, I have come to the following conclusion: When training for the feed training technique, 1) The player’s level of play has to be taken into consideration. (For example, the trainer has to see whether the player belongs in the Elementary Level, the Intermediate Level, or the Advanced Level.) 2) Players should pay close attention to the timing, direction, distance, angle, and the position they are standing in. 3) According to the definitions, functions and methods of the feed training technique, the training of high caliber players can be roughly divided into 2 areas: Front court training (offensive and defensive) and Back court training (offensive and defensive). The feed training technique is a very effective training method, however, there is still some difference between the training sessions and the real game. Therefore, practical on-the-field training is strongly recommended. The results of this study can serve as reference to all badminton instructors.
