This study is aimed to investigate how a traditional grouper aquaculture company under the family-run business model to applies the knowledge management to overcome the bottleneck, and how to speed the research and innovation process. From 1985 to 2012, Long-Dian morphed from a lobster-raising company into a grouper aquaculture research company and eventually branched into the cosmetics industry. That is, when the company began to establish a mechanism of knowledge transfer and management, the said organization was able to solve high labor turnover problems gradually, hence, the above company was able to deal with the difficulty of knowledge accumulation. Furthermore, the company accelerated the pace of new product development and found a new niche markets rapidly which led to the immense growth of the organization.
