Purpose: This study was to investigate the winning and losing factors in four major tennis tournaments by analyzing the players' statistics; Methods: In addition, the differences in statistics between four tournaments were also discussed. Results: The results found there were three factors namedball-speed, baseline and net skills, and error frequency. Baseline and net skills anderror frequency showed significant difference in statistics between winning and losing matches in both men and women tournaments; ball-speed had significant differences in men's tournament but not in women's Australia and French tournaments. Furthermore, the statistics were different in four tournaments depending on its court material, weather and temperature. Conclusion: It was suggested that players should not only develop personal skills, but also need to consider the factors of tournaments and strategies using against different opponents.
