Purpose: This study was to investigate the human resources, current practices and job satisfaction of tennis class in Taiwan. Method: The questionnaire was established by the interviews of tennis coaches. The data were collected from tennis coaches in Taiwan, there were 207 valid samples. Results: The seniority of most coaches was under 5 years, and their average salary were fewer than 20,000 per month. Most tennis classes were concentrated in the north and large metropolitan area, about 70% tennis classes were established less than 10 years. The job satisfaction of tennis coaches with "the quality technical and professional of coaches", and "good training and teaching attitude" had higher scores, but the "satisfaction of salary" had the lowest score. Female coaches and classes in the northern regions had significant differences in the items of "the coach’s quality of technical and professional" of job satisfaction. Coaches who were not graduated from physical education department, hadn't participated in National tennis ranking tournament and in the northern area had higher job satisfaction in the item of "adequate human resources". In conclusion, this study proposed that the tennis class was one of the worth developing sports industry, it can create employment opportunities. But the qualifications of tennis coaches, the size and charges of tennis class didn’t have clear rules to follow. And this could be a good issue for further research.
