This paper discusses the ongoing process how the course psychology of religion got developed in the higher education curriculum in Taiwan. The course, considered as a sub-field of Psychology, applies the psychological theories and methods to the analysis of religion phenomena. It can also be considered as a theoretical approach to the religion study. In Taiwan, this course is seldom taught in Department of Psychology until the Religious Studies program got set up in 1988. As a result, different teachers design the course with different foci based on their professional backgrounds and their understandings towards the relationship of psychology and religion. Hence, in this research, its relationship get further investigated and its prospects get discussed, too, together with several approaches recommended how the course can be designed.
