台灣諮商心理專業自2001年心理師法通過，邁向新的里程碑。為規範諮商心理服務的專業行為及提升專業品質，國內外諮商學會均訂定諮商專業倫理守則，進而確保助人工作之內涵。本文以2014年美國諮商學會倫理專業守則為主，探討其關鍵改變及可能意涵，期能增進專業助人工作者之倫理覺察。此次修訂倫理守則將從導論、遠距諮商、諮商教育者與督導、倫理決策模式、諮商界線與專業關係、諮商結束及轉介等六個領域進行討論，並提出相關建議。
