Chinese classic novels, regardless their condition or in the dynasties being created, are so abundant that each has its own broad humanity implications and plural creative reflection in Chinese culture. "Journey to the West" is one of the most famous four novels in the Ming Dynasty. Taking the history of Sanzang’s westbound to seek for Sutra (Buddhism bibles) as the blueprint and combining a variety of legends and stories from Tang to Ming Dynasty related to Sanzang’s journey, the novel writer then consolidated these material to create this book by using his splendid imagination. Because the whole novel is full of humorous lively wonders and interpreting life philosophy within the wonderful mythical staggered plot, so many readers take it widely commendable ever since this novel was completed. Over the past decade, regarding to the theme of this novel, some scholars have proposed a new argument of "Bildungsroman" style. These creative and unique viewpoints have drawn academic attention. Following these new viewpoints on novel theme to explore and expand the classical essence of the novel, it provides a new angle of reviewing these characters for their creation and discovering lively life meaning in them. Therefore, through the perspective of life growth, this paper explores, analyzes and induce the novel’s text all the ways, so as to conclude the humanistic value of the monk mentoring in the "Journey to the West".
