This study aims to analyze 裡台灣, Ke-Xia Liu’s series of travel works, with the introspection on the process of modernization; moreover, to find out how Liu resisted the estrangement from homeland Taiwan by discovering decades of town history and recording the changes of cities under modernization, and provided good examples of tradition-and-modernity fusion during modernization for town development.
