The shared wisdom of Confucianism and Taoism is Tao. Based On the previous researches, this study enquires into the origin, the usage, and thought content of the word Tao. In the research step, in addition to "ntroduction" and "Conclusion", the interpretation of this article is divided into three sections: "In Simple and Unadorned Meaning of the Tao" and "What Tao Means in Lao Tzu" and "Explanation of the metaphysics Tao". This study reaches four conclusions: "Decided at a critical moment", "Smooth life", "Thinking very deep intelligence", "The realizing of internality becomes outside experience". This is the abundant meaning of Lao Tzu's Tao. On the other hand, Tao has triple meanings in Lao Tzu: "Metaphysics Tao" is invisible yet claims eternal existence. It exists anterior to the earth and the sky, nurtures every creature without dominating it. "Tao of Regular Change" provides the physical law of Tao. In "Tao of Daily Life," Tao produces its influence through practice, and guides directions for humans.
