Among the three original and developmental stages or paradigms of philosophy of religion, especially in the context of the hermeneutic turn of philosophical tendency of the 20th century, this paper attempts a hermeneutical turn of philosophy of religion as a new reflection on the meaning and the significance of religion and its relationship with Christianity in the dialectical relationship between faith and understanding. It starts from the primary problem of the understanding of * faith, to discern the structure of *faith as a pre-structure of understanding, the contextuality of religion, the hermeneutic circles, the person in context and Christian anthropology. Then the substance of faith is to be deciphered, namely the linguistics aspect [linguisticity] of religion, the hermeneutic dialogue, language as a medium of spirit and material, and the Christian doctrine of the incarnation. Finally, the process of faith will be disclosed as understanding of religious language and application in life, which is indicated in so-called matter of factness (Sachlichkeit) of religion, the hermeneutic arch and the Trinitarian revelation. Consequently it should conceptualize the baseline of systemic hermeneutics of religion. This includes on the one hand the transformation of the dimensions of the phenomenology of religion to hermeneutics of religion, including systemic structure of the subjective, linguistic and objective sub-dimensions, and on the other hand the doubling of the hermeneutic turn, i.e., religion in wholeness as the medium between the spiritual / sacred and material / secular dimensions and the sub-dimension of religious language as mediation of subjective and objective sub-dimensions.
